Anthong Griffin got tired of being denied access to Galveston Island while he saw other folks let on the island.  Anthony filed a lawsuit Friday in U.S. District Court against the City of Galveston and its mayor and city manager, claiming the city of Galveston allowed “influential” residents access to the island while it was closed to others, violating the civil rights of people turned away.  The complaint alleges, “The rules have been bent and applied by defendants in an unequal manner to protect a selected few."  The lawsuit claims the policy caused financial damage to Griffin’s law practice because he couldn’t get to his records or to his calendar. The suit will be moot come Wednesday if everyone with homes or offices behind the seawall are allowed in.
